The Folk Craftsmen Fair

Every year, at the end of July, the Folk Craftsmen Fair takes place in the Bucovina Village Museum. The fair reached its sixteenth edition and is included in the programme promoting traditional crafts. The event is a chance to assert the values of Romanian tradition and its cultural heritage.

Workshop "Young Craftsmen"

The workshop „Young Craftsmen” – one of the most important programmes of practical museum learning, opens its gates every year, in July.
The workshop has reached its fourteenth edition and has become a traditional event in the area. Every year, more and more children who are interested in the folk crafts come to attend the workshop.

The Festival of Folk Music Bands

The festival of folk music bands was initiated in 2007 by the Romanian journalist Marius Tucã from Jurnalul Naţional Newspaper, in the spirit of Recurs la România (a media campaign with the aim to bring to light the authentic national cultural values) and has turned into an authentic resistance movement. It started at the National Village Museum „Dimitrie Gusti” from Bucharest, it continued at the outdoor Museum from Dumbrava Sibiului and, in the summer of 2010, it also passed by the Bucovina Village Museum in Suceava.

A Child’s Dream in Grandparent’s House

The programme A Child’s Dream in Grandparents’ House – which reached its fifteenth edition – was organized together with a number of schools from Suceava.There is a competition on two age groups – between 7 and 11 years old and between 12 and 15 years old – and the competitors receive prizes for the most beautiful drawings.

The Easter Fair

Around the Easter holidays, the Museum organizes the Easter Fair, which reached its twelfth edition. This event provides the inhabitants of Suceava with the opportunity to buy traditional objects meant for these holy days.
